What is Computer?


Computer is an electronic device which is capable of receiving information in particular form performing sequence of operation in accordance with a predetermined but variable set of procedure instruction to produce a result in form of information or signals

What is the Full Form of computer?

Technically, the computer doesn’t have full form. In hypothetical form full form of computer is said to be Common Operating Machine particularly used for Trade, Education and Research.

 Who founded computer?


The first computer was the Abacus or its descendant, the slide rule invented by
William Oughtred in 1622. Blaise Pascal is credited for building the first
digital computer in 1642.

Who is Father of computer?


The First computer resembling today’s modern machines was an analytic engine, it was designed by the British mathematician CharlesBabbage between 1837 and it contain an Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU), basic flow control, integrated memory and he is known as the “Father of Computer”.

Alan Turing is considered by many to be father of modern computer science as the world knows it. He formed concept of algorithm and computations with on his invention, the Turing machine.

Who invented the first programmable computer?


The Z1 was the first Electro-mechanical binary programmable Computer, build by German Konrad Zuse in his parent living room between 1936 and 1938.

Who invented the first electric programmable computer?


The Colossus was the first electric programmable computer, developed by Tommy flowers and it was demonstrated in December 1943. It was created to help the British code breakers to read encrypted German messages.

Who invented the first digital computer?


The first digital computer was ENIAC was invented by J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly at university of Pennsylvania and began construction in 1943 was not completed until 1946. It occupied about 1,800 square feet and used 18,000 vacuum tubes and weighed 50 tons.

First computer with program stored in memory


The first computer with program stored in memory is delivered to United States government in the year 1950, the UNIVAC 1101 is which the first computer capable of storing and running a program form memory.

In, 1975 Ed Roberts coined the term “Personal Computer” when he introduced the Altair 8800, first pc considered by many to be KENBAK-1, which was introduced for $750 in 1971.

Which is the First computer virus?


The very earliest computer virus is “Creeper” which displayed the message “I AM CREEPER: CATCH ME IF YOU CAN” were not only innocuous experiments in computer but completely quarantined to their home networks, this was in 1971 when there was no unified internet.

Which is the First supercomputer?


Supercomputers were introduced in 1960’s with ATLAS at university of Manchester, the IBM 7030 stretch and series of computer at Control Data Corporation (CDC), designed by Seymour Cray. These used innovative design Parallelism to achieve superior computational peak performance. The Atlas officially commissioned on 7th December 1962 one of world first Supercomputer considered most powerful computer in the world at the time by considerable margin.

Quantum Computer


D-Wave is the world’s first company to sell quantum computers. The D-Wave one was build on early prototype such as D-Wave’s orion quantum computer. The Prototype was 16-qubitquantum annealing processor, demonstrated on 13 February 2007 at computer history museum in Mountain view, California.
